Mil Palmeras - Costa Blanca - Spain
Mil Palmeras Spain: Located at the southern end of the coastal area known as the Orihuela Costa, Mil Palmeras is a renowned spot for a beach style holiday, boasting a wonderful sandy beach and the usual expected holiday facilities.
Facing the Mediterranean Sea on Spain’s south-east coast, Mil Palmeras is within the Communidad de Valencia, in the province of Alicante.
As you can see on the Mil Palmeras map at the top of the page, the resort is sandwiched between the resorts of Campoamor and Torre de la Horadada (the beach resort for Pilar de la Horadada).
You will also see from the map of Mil Palmeras that the resort can be accessed from either the N-332 or the AP-7 motorway (exit at Dehesa de Campoamor, Junction 768). Use zoom (+) on the map and you will be able to view a detailed road map of Mil Palmeras, enabling you to find your holiday property.
Weather in Mil Palmeras: Want to know what to expect regarding Mil Palmeras weather?
Well, you can mostly expect plenty of sunshine, in fact over 300 days of sun each year. May to September are the best months in Mil Palmeras weather wise, though you can safely visit any time of year, the months to avoid in my opinion would be November and February (march and April can also be dodgy), though this can of course vary year to year.
Mil Palmeras Beach: The resort’s beach is made up of fine white sand (it get very hot on the feet in the summer), and though it does get busy, there is always plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the sun. Spanish visitors tend to crowd as close to the sea as they can get, so you will always find space (and better sand) at the back of the beach.
Mil Palmeras Golf: There are plenty of golf courses nearby, so you will be spoilt for choice. There are Villamartin, Club de Golf Campoamor and Las Ramblas (the three Orihuela Costa courses), and also Lo Romero at nearby Campoverde. Head down to the Mar Menor or Murcia and you will find lots more golf courses, in fact within a hour’s drive you could play a different course each day. Summer time weather may be a bit too hot for golf, and winter is very popular with golfers, as the weather is much more pleasant.
Mil Palmeras Restaurants: While there are a few bars and restaurants in Mil Palmeras, it is not a lively resort as such, there is not too much nightlife to be found. Perhaps the most popular restaurant in Mil Palmeras is the Olympia Bar and Restaurant, which has a nice pool area and function room with various events taking place and also dancing lessons and barn dancing. For more restaurants try the Plaza de Pueblo Latino.
For the best of the local nightlife you will be rewarded with a short drive (or taxi ride) along to Cabo Roig, where its strip of bars and restaurants is very lively, offering a wide choice of food and entertainment. A trip to Villamartin Plaza will also offer more fine dining experiences.
Mil Palmeras Bars & Pubs: You will find several pubs and bars in Mil Palmeras, one of the most popular is JP’s Bar which is located in the Plaza Mil Palmeras, you can visit their own website here: JP’s Bar Mil Palmeras.
The name "Mil Palmeras" means "One Thousand Palms" and there are certainly plenty of palm trees lining the streets, and dotted in the gardens of houses in the resort, though quite how the name was arrived at is unknown (by me at least).
Riomar Mil Palmeras (or Rio Mar): A popular area of the resort is Riomar (or Rio Mar), here many have purchased holiday homes and you may well find holiday rentals in the Riomar area. The picture above right is of the Riomar area, taken from the road leading down to the beach and beach car park.
Mil Palmeras Rentals: There are often a number of rental in Mil Palmeras, both for holidays and sometimes for long term rent (long lets). We often feature holiday rentals in Mil Palmeras at the bottom of this page.
